Tragedy

One day while getting read for work I heard this sad tragic story on the news
A 2-month-old girl died after being left inside of a vehicle for five hours while temperatures reach more than 100 degrees.
When the police arrived the doors of the vehicle were open and the temperature was measure at about 102 degrees F (38 degrees C). Police estimated the temperature at about 115 degree farenheit while the 2 month old baby was in the car.
When the baby arrived at the hospital her internal temperature was measured at 108 degrees F. This was approximately 30-40 mins after she had been pulled fromt the car.
Imagine what her temperature reached fromt the time she was in the car to the time she was found!!!
This isn't the first time I have heard this story either...it happened quite a few years back. A 2 or 3 mos old infant was left in the car for 5 hrs and died from heat exposure. After further reading the article so far this year 3 children have died in the state...it doesn't sound like a whole lot but it is still extremely tragic.
The article ends saying a campaign has been started by a local children's hospital that will provide us with clings for our vehicles to remind us parents to check for our children before backing up  the vehicle or going inside the house.
Really??? we need to be reminded as parents to check for our children??? I find something very wrong with that. If your life is SOOOO busy that you can't remember you need to check for your children then you need to re-adjust your priorites because obviously your children are not your first priority. I would say if your life is SOO busy you shouldn't have children but most of the time it's too late they have already had children.

This state is also the worse for kids drowning in swimming pools...PEOPLE watch your children around water. If you have a swimming pool in the backyard and you have children, precautions need to be taken so there isn't a possibility of an accident occuring. Your children are not invincible...accidents can happen to anyone.
