Tragedy
One day while getting read for work I heard this sad tragic story on the news
A 2-month-old girl died after being left inside of a vehicle for five hours while temperatures reach more than 100 degrees.
When the police arrived the doors of the vehicle were open and the temperature was measure at about 102 degrees F (38 degrees C). Police estimated the temperature at about 115 degree farenheit while the 2 month old baby was in the car.
When the baby arrived at the hospital her internal temperature was measured at 108 degrees F. This was approximately 30-40 mins after she had been pulled fromt the car.
Imagine what her temperature reached fromt the time she was in the car to the time she was found!!!
This isn't the first time I have heard this story either...it happened quite a few years back. A 2 or 3 mos old infant was left in the car for 5 hrs and died from heat exposure. After further reading the article so far this year 3 children have died in the state...it doesn't sound like a whole lot but it is still extremely tragic.
The article ends saying a campaign has been started by a local children's hospital that will provide us with clings for our vehicles to remind us parents to check for our children before backing up the vehicle or going inside the house.
Really??? we need to be reminded as parents to check for our children??? I find something very wrong with that. If your life is SOOOO busy that you can't remember you need to check for your children then you need to re-adjust your priorites because obviously your children are not your first priority. I would say if your life is SOO busy you shouldn't have children but most of the time it's too late they have already had children.
This state is also the worse for kids drowning in swimming pools...PEOPLE watch your children around water. If you have a swimming pool in the backyard and you have children, precautions need to be taken so there isn't a possibility of an accident occuring. Your children are not invincible...accidents can happen to anyone.

Answer to this Question
I can't remember how I started thinking about this on Sunday but I did.
I am sure we have all been asked this question once or twice before..."Who are you"?
I know I have been asked the question more than once and any answer I gave seemed to not be what the person was looking for.
To answer that I am a doctor would be incorrect *(worry not...I am not now or ever will be a doctor*)
Being a doctor is something you do...not who you are. But what if what we do IS who we are because what we do is our whole life...like a doctor. Some doctors are doctors all the time 24-7...there are those that are able to turn it off and just be themselves but many cannot. So then why when they answer I am doctor is that incorrect. I am Jane Doe a doctor now you know my name and what I do. If it is something else that is wanted when this question is asked then why not ask the question in such a way you get the answer you are looking for. I am Jane Doe, a doctor, a female aged 38, I am wife, a mother, a daughter, a sister, a friend, neice, grand-daughter. Is that the informationt that is required?
I know the question is suppose to invoke thought and inner reflection but for me it just frustrates me.
So next time someone asks me the question I will simply give them my name...if they require more information then they will have to ask the right questions that will give them the information they want.

North Mountain Hiking
Okay so I hiked North Mountain again last night for the second time. Second time around wasn't any easier...but it wasn't as hot this time which I am very grateful for.
The trail only takes about 30mins. up and 30mins back down...and that is if you are out of shape and a beginner which is what I am.
The first 10 mins of the trail you are climbing up...and you have to climp rocks. Not rock climbing like you need equipment but its a rocky path that for me requires focus and concentration...especially on the way down. But after that little bit of uneven rocky path then it is paved the rest of the way up and it offers some very pretty views of which I took one pic.
Not to worry though I will be back there next week and will take pics of other views. I was very tired and it took a lot of effort to dig out my camera to take a pic.
Now AZ more specifically the valley boasts some die hard hikers despite being 100 and some damn degrees for a majority of the year. Some of the die hard hikers I observed last night.
One girl had to be very early 20's if she wasn't 18 or 19 and had a one year old or less with her. She made this baby climb up the uneven rock path...poor baby! They started a good 10-15 mins. before I did and I encountered them again on the paved pathway and the poor little baby was crying..and rightly so...her feet and legs must have been killing her.
Second die hards I encountered were 2 young girls again probably early 20's with a stroller and a baby in it. I mean full on stroller not the tiny little umbrella stroller...this stroller meant busines....even so it still wasn't a jogging stroller or anything. I mean really??? how the hell did you get that stroller up that rocky path???
My only answer for that is they must have went up the path from the other side which is all paved but takes way longer to hike.
The last lady I encountered was during my descent down the rocky pathway and she had a baby on her back. Impressive!!!
I on the other hand would not go hiking with my child until she is about 10 because my child ain't crazy she would be saying MOMMY CARRRY ME!!!.....I would be like HECKS no are you crazy???...you carry me.
Needless to say I can certainly do without hiking if I have no one to look after my child while I go.
