Orange Cone Highway

Ok let me first make it clear I wasn't driving on a highway but it is a pretty busy street especially during rush hour. Oragne Cone highway sounds so much better as a title than Orange Cone Busy Street.

Anyway I was on the way home fromt working out at the gym yesterday driving along said busy street. Come to find out that constrution is about to start on the street as there is a sign telling drivers that the street will be down to one lane and orange cones are set out to mark this out to us.
Fine, construction workers need to continue to work, I am not sure I see how the whole mile, mile and half or so of the busy street all needs construction  but okay I guess the workers need to feed their families too.
What irks me is that they have this huge chunk of this major street blocked off and they are only working on small little tiny chunk of it. So I am driving all yesterday evening wondering why it is they have to block of an entire lane of this busy street for such a large distance when they are only working on a small little chunk of the street.
Then it came to me....we only have 2 people in the entire state of Arizona that can set out the orange cones so they quickly do it all at once because they have to rush to other areas in the state to set out orange cones for more construction. Because setting out the orange cones to block off parts of highways and busy streets....and okay not so busy streets is a very important and difficult task that only two people in the entire state can handle. That being realized my frustration quickly subsided as now I felt sorry for the two people who have to drive all over the state putting out orange cones, maybe I should see if I can apply for a job with them and help out...then there would be three of us to set out orange cones all over the state.
After about 15 or so mins of driving slowly down one lane victory was mine and we went back to three lanes and I quickly made my way home to eat a HUGE salad for dinner.
